What causes hair loss?
“The moment a person notices a problem with their hair, they’ve already lost 50% of it. I encourage everyone to make the move to know what’s going on before it’s too late. Hair loss is permanent. The faster you get in, the faster we can find the solution,” Carly, National Hair Loss Founder, explains.
There are many causes for hair loss, with the number one reason being genetics. “We see men and women who have gone through hormone replacement therapy, but have still lost their hair. What they don’t realize is that if you have a genetic predisposition for hair loss, hormone replacement therapy can actually accelerate the loss.” Autoimmune diseases, chemotherapy, stress, environmental factors, diets and pregnancy, among other issues also cause hair loss.
Testing for Hair Loss
National Hair Loss takes a microscopic approach to diagnosing and treating hair loss. Aside from talking with the client and asking questions to determine causes, National Hair Loss offers a comprehensive Hair Analysis Test. Hair and nail samples are taken and sent to a lab in Europe for in-depth testing.
“Hair and nail samples can show us an intolerance to something that was eaten two months ago,” Carly explains. Along with foods, detailed testing can show evidence of invasive organisms, toxic metals, and other environmental intolerances that don’t show up in routine blood work.
Chemotherapy Hair Restoration
National Hair Loss donates a portion of its proceeds to the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center and Facing Forward classes for cancer patients. The clinic also hosts Beauty in Bloom and Fall into Beauty, a community event to promote healthy living from the inside out.
